Workplace training and educational support are available and utilized by our employees. Each employee receives orientation and job training within their functional area. Employees demonstrating initiative and a desire to learn can also receive cross-functional training. This enables them to make a bigger contribution to the organization, which is rewarded.
The Company also seeks to create opportunities for our employees to exchange ideas with colleagues around the world. Origin training programs, multi-origin functional teams and worldwide conferences are regular occurrences within the organization. Additionally, the Company is continuing our tradition of tobacco-related training through our new Tobacco Training Center in Brazil. This training center is a state-of-the-art agronomic training center consisting of an operational tobacco farm, a training center and a breeding program laboratory. The goal is to enhance participant agronomic and tobacco business learning in a highly interactive, hands-on environment. The practical lessons will be supported with theoretical learning in the classroom.
The Company also supports the educational pursuits of employees and their families by providing educational support, loans and tuition reimbursement in many countries around the world.
